Consistency is key, is the first and most important rule to keep in mind when building an online presence. In order to preform best you must keep this theme through a cohesive brand and interacting with your target group regularly.


After completing a branding project in my intro to public relations class, we learned that everything must match across the board. This includes colors, pictures, messages, even fonts. This allows your brand to be more recognizable, people only have to remember one image that’s offered to them. It also provides a professional and pleasing look to what is being promoted. No one is drawn to something unorganized. It must be simple for the target group to follow what your brand attempting to tell them, or else there will be a loss of interest. And it could even direct them to competition that has a clearer path.


Any stage of growing an online presence is important, from no presence or a complicated presence with little interaction. Regular interaction with your audience simplifies their choice again, they don’t have to work to know what the brand is about without having to build interest to find out themselves. With my own experience, brands that I consistently see and reach out to me stay on my mind and are the first to come to me when I am looking for whatever they might provide. This is because a relationship is built through the effort of the brand and the audience simply has to choose whether they made their point reach a level of importance in the audiences mind.


These two factors seem to be the most important part of building a presence. Creating this online image is more difficult to accomplish because people are constantly being fed information to the point that everyone numbly sifts through and will only call attention to what is different or proves of significant importance. Following this straightforward formula, we must prove ourselves through curated messages we send to different groups. While first, getting their attention through our consistency. Make your brand impossible to ignore.
