As a political figure head you have separated yourself from being a common citizen. No matter how normal of a person you seem to be, you have signed up to hold more responsibility than the average. With this comes issues, communication issues. It is hard to establish a connection with someone that doesn’t live the same life as you. Humbling oneself is one way to attempt to make a connection but that can come off insincere.
There is an art to reaching the public. You must show all the qualities that can’t as easily come off as acting fake. Having a likeable personality is one. This doesn’t mean being the funniest in the room or being everyone’s best friend. But showing who you are uniquely. Building honest traits that people look for in a leader will help to grow acceptance and faith in your abilities. Show the world what can be accomplished through their trust in you.

Second, in those accomplishments show your reasoning. Being transparent and upfront gives people insight on your thoughts and will lead to less confusion and more support for your actions. People will stand with someone they know they can align their ideals with and won’t let them down.
Next, involvement from the people will keep them more involved. This meaning, if you give them a chance to be a part of things that affect their lives more of them will gain interest in what is happening. Encouraging this exponentially grows this involvement as well. As we saw in the 2020 presidential elections, many celebrities and politicians urged young voters to take part in their right to vote, which dramatically changed the participation of the younger generation.
Last major part, decision need to start being made for the betterment of citizens not, one single person’s pocket. The system is flawed in this way that our government has become entangled in politics and business. A start is electing leaders that value the average citizens life over one sided deals.
These factors are not always focused on in our leaders minds like they should be. As the nation that values democracy enough to stop an entire world war, we must hold others accountable in keeping its citizen’s best interest in mind.
